INTERVIEWS

Tom Sykes - co-author of John Taylor's “In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death and Duran Duran.” You also might recognize him from some of the Q&A’s he participated in with John during his book tour. Their conversations were like listening in on close friends, and via the experience of working together day after day, that's exactly what they had become.

With the book now out in paperback, Tom took some time away from his busy writing schedule to talk to us about his career and working with John Taylor. And he has been kind enough, along with Little Brown, to give us a few copies of “ITPG” in paperback to give away to 4 lucky fan community members! Click here
Helen Owens and Jon Wilson are the lucky duo working the Duran Duran catalogue for EMI. They certainly have a lot to keep them busy as Duran Duran music is always in demand as recently proven by their showing on the BBC Radio 2 Top 100 Albums of all time list (RIO at #3). They were nice enough to give the fan community 2 copies of the special RECORD STORE DAY blue "Is There Something I Should Know?" vinyl & one copy of the "Is There Something I Should Know?" test pressing - YES, a test pressing!!

We will contact three winners next week. Read more of the interview with Helen and Jon....Click here
When Duran Duran wanted to produce some vinyl of their album ALL YOU NEED IS NOW, they found the perfect partner with UK's The Vinyl Factory. The ethos behind the company is creativity, something Duran Duran took to immediately. The COO, Sean Bidder, worked closely with Nick and John, especially, to bring the ALL YOU NEED IS NOW vinyl package to fruition. When Nick and Warren needed a partner for the vinyl release of TV Mania's BORED WITH PROZAC AND THE INTERNET, they knew right where to go.

We are lucky enough to not only have a member exclusive written Q&A with Sean, but he's been nice enough to give us two of the gatefold vinyl to give to two lucky Duran Duran VIP Fan Community members!! Click here

If you were a group who were inspired by Duran Duran what are the chances that you'd have the moxy, luck and fortune to find yourself working with one of your heroes? If you're Alex and Simon from the duo Koishii & Hush, pretty good!

The two have snagged John Taylor for vocals on their single "C'est Tout Est Noir," released digitally in January. The pair recently announced a campaign to press 500 maxi singles of the tune, 20 of which will be signed by John (and have already sold out!).

Super fan and super journalist, Lyndsey Parker has been a fan of Duran Duran since they first hit the scene in the 80s. They certainly inspired her career to be a music journalist and she's just put out one of Rhino's first i-books, Careless Memories of Strange Behavior: My Notorious Life as a Duran Duran Fan.

We were lucky enough to snag her for an interview, where you can learn all about (and maybe compare notes) the roots of her fandom! She and Rhino have also been kind enough to gift FIVE DD VIP Members with a copy of her book for download ! We will announce the winners we pick at random next week!

If you were lucky enough to catch Duran Duran's UK tour, then you were also lucky enough to catch sight of Dawne Adams, who played percussion with the band on that leg of the ALL YOU NEED IS NOW tour. When thinking of iconic Duran Duran videos, certainly the gorgeous clip for "Ordinary World" is one of the first that come to mind. Directed by Nick Egan (INXS, Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Bon Jovi), the video for the song was a huge part of the band's early 90s resurgence. The guys reunited with Nick when choosing a director for the first video from the ALL YOU NEED IS NOW album, the single of the same name. We are grateful Nick took time from his busy schedule to do such a terrific Written Interview with the Fan Community! Click here
PR’s are often sworn to a code of silence due to the very nature of their work. They serve, protect and guard their clients interests in a shroud of secrecy. Often very little is actually known about the lives of these people.

In a very rare first time interview, DDM gets a 10 minute insight into Duran Duran’s publicist Gerard Franklin. Click here
